What’s Happening in the Church

Sunday, Jan. 26th– Plan to be with us and invite a friend! Morning service begins at 10:30am and evening service at 6pm. We would love to see you there!

Chili Fundraiser- On Saturday, Feb. 1st from 4 pm until 7 pm at the Whole Ministries Center a Chili dinner along with salad and hushpuppies will be held to benefit Baby Eb, Son of Shaylor and Tess Meekins. There will also be a bake sale and it will be dine-in or take out all for donations. If you are unable to make it that night, but would still like to donate please stop by any Southern Bank and you can donate to “Eb’s Heart Heroes.”

Eb was born with tricuspid atresia and transposition of the great arteries. At just three days old, Eb underwent his first open-heart surgery and is facing multiple heart surgeries in the future. The Meekins family’s greatest need at this time is continued prayers and financial support as they accumulate medical and travel expenses.

During this special time of year take time to pray for those who are unable to be with family & friends such as missionaries, military, and prisoners. Although they may be far from us, they are near and dear to our hearts!

The Women’s Ministry is collecting used (or new) Christmas cards. The pictures on the cards are sent to India and given to children as prizes! Please place your cards in the wooden box in the church hallway or give them to Mama June Basnight.

Mpact Girls Club will be starting back again January 22nd (Wednesday nights) at Wanchese Assembly of God for girls ages 3-13 years old and boys from 3-5 years old. For questions or transportation call Deborah Heath at (252) 256-0731.

Kristen Cordeiro– is going to several locations in the Baltic Area with a group from Southeastern University. She will be gone from Feb. 27 through March 9 of 2020. Her expenses will be $2,500. Please consider giving toward this missions trip!

Donna Karnavas is going on a mission trip with Creative Ministries to Africa late winter. Her expenses will be $3,750. She will be sharing later on, but securing her position now is essential. Feel free to invest in her trip by placing money in the offering with “Donna” in the memo or on the envelope.

WCA Updates: WCA High School students are collecting items for a Yard Sale in February to help with their class trip to Washington, DC! As you clean out, please contact the school office (252)-473-5797 or a student to tote away gently used items, but please no clothes.

WCA High School students will be serving 2 different kinds of hot soups on Sunday, January 26th after the morning service. All donations will go toward their trip to DC in the Spring. The meal includes your choice of potato or chicken tortilla soup, crackers, dessert, and sweet tea!

Awaken Youth Ministries will now meet Sunday evenings instead of Wednesday evenings. The WMC will be open at 5:30 pm with service starting at 6 pm. Students can be picked up anytime after 7 pm.

Family Units (Small Groups) will start meeting every Tuesday night from 7-8 pm at Pastor Reed and Sydni’s house at 3419 Mill Landing Rd in Wanchese.
